CCT announces cast for It’s a Wonderful Life
Children’s Community Theatre has selected its cast for its upcoming production of the stage version of the classic Christmas movie “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
The production will be staged Dec. 6-7 and Dec. 12-14 at Kishwaukee College.
"We are extremely excited to have attracted such a talented cast for CCT's first ever holiday show," said Director George Schippits. "I think they will bring Bedford Falls to life - from sweet little Zuzu Bailey to miserable old Mr. Potter, we were able to find talented actors and actresses to fill the roles."
It’s a Wonderful Life,” tells the story of George Bailey. Born and raised in tiny Bedford Falls, New York, early in the 20th Century, George yearns to travel and see the world. Fate has other ideas, however, and instead he winds up married, with a large family, and running a savings and loan. Disaster strikes one Christmas Eve when the business goes broke, causing George to despair and wish he had never been born. An angel, Clarence, comes to earth and shows George how much poorer the lives of everyone in Bedford Falls would have been without him.
Playing the role of kind-hearted but despondent banker George Bailey will be Jared de Seife. The part of the guardian angel, Clarence, who shows George what the world would be like had he never been born will be played by Wade Tischhauserr, 17 , and George's devoted wife, Mary, will be portrayed by Elizabeth Pickett. George's nemesis and alter ego, Mr. Potter, will be played by Andy Small.
The remainder of the Bailey family will be played by Joey Gage (Harry Bailey) Lisa Small (Mother Bailey), Jared Montavon (Pete Bailey and young George Bailey), Jamie Small (Tommy Bailey), Madelyn Loellke (Janie Bailey) and Merri Bork (Zuzu Bailey). George's bumbling Uncle Billy will be portrayed by Michael Daffenberg.
